Current Status
On September 25, Microsoft announced the
End Date of continued support for Dynamics GP as September 30, 2029.
As of this date there shall be no further:
- Software releases with product enhancements and service packs
- Regulatory (tax) updates
- Technical support from Microsoft
Security updates/patches will be released as needed until April 30, 2031.

Key Facts
As of now, based on information released by Microsoft, the following are known:
- Software releases for Dynamics GP are scheduled through the end date of September 30, 2029.
- The last version of Dynamics GP will release as follows:
- Q4 2028 – last product release with enhancements (typically October).
- Q4 2028 – last year end update (typically December).
- June/July 2029 – last mid-year update – typically includes regulatory / tax changes.
- Hot fixes as and when needed before the end date.
- If you are on versions of GP of 2018 R2 or earlier, then extended support for your version will end earlier than September 30, 2029. See the Lifecycle Policy link for dates for your specific version.
- GP Use & Functionality:
- As a perpetual licensee, your installed version of Dynamics GP will continue to function, regardless of the version’s end date, on its supported versions of SQL Server and Windows operating systems.
- The Dynamics GP Utilities program is sensitive to the version of SQL Server and Windows operating system on which it is being installed and will fail to complete the installation process on unsupported versions of these platforms. If a migration to new equipment is required, supported versions of SQL Server and Windows operating system must also be installed.
- GP Subscription licenses may not be renewable at or beyond the end date and this is currently under review.

We plan to continue to support Dynamics GP past the end date. We will work closely with our clients to ensure their business operations remain smooth and uninterrupted.
Whether a client chooses to continue using Dynamics GP or explore other options, we shall provide guidance and support tailored to the client's unique needs.

Dynamics partners provide planning, implementation, customization, and support services aimed at optimizing your solution for your specific business needs beyond just accounting.

Deploying Dynamics GP ... the software can be deployed where you choose ... on premises, private cloud, public cloud or a hybrid combination
Dynamics Perpetual Licensing ... With Microsoft Dynamics Perpetual Licensing, you license the ERP Solution functionality up front, and access to that functionality is secured by licensing users. A yearly maintenance renewal is available. Perpetual Licensing is designed to help your businesses get started with an affordable one-time starting price.

Modules
Starter Pack ... empowers businesses to quickly and affordably get started with Dynamics GP. The Starter Pack offers core Financials and Distribution functionality with three full users. For many businesses, this is the only Dynamics GP license required.
Extended Pack ... delivers more advanced functionality and extends core finanials and distribution modules.
Customization Pack ... delivers ability to integrate or customize Dynamics GP yourself with built-in tools for deep integrations with other products, and customizations that extend the application to meet specific requirements.
Note: Additional software licenses may be required, such as Windows Server, SQL Server, and Office 365. Software must be licensed per the applicable license terms.
User License Types ... three user types are available: full, limited and self-service. This gives you the ability to control access and the cost of your solution. Named Self-service users are designed for non-business tasks. The concurrent limited user can view business information in addition to the self-serve rights. The full concurrent user allows full access.
